Kaje is a game for the iPad, for all ages!
Kaje is pronounced just like "K G" or "cagey" (def. "crafty and
shrewd").
Turn your photos into Kaje treasure hunts!
Each treasure hunt game is one picture, and your hunt is guided by hints about where to touch or swipe your finger across the picture. If you touch or swipe your way through the hunt, you win a treasure.
Some example games are included with Kaje.
But you can also make up your own games for friends, family, anybody, along with treasures that you make up.
Game Play
Pick a game, and you will see a picture. To play the game, touch the picture.
Now you will see the picture with grid dots on it and a hint printed on top of the picture. The hint is usually for you to touch one of the grid dots. If you touch the right one, you will get the next hint. Touch the right dot, and you get another hint. You win the game when each action is the right one for the hint. Kaje will give you applause and a gold star! You will also see the prize specific to the game.
Touching a grid dot is an action. There are two other actions possible. One is a simple swipe from one grid to another. The last action is also a swipe but now the path of the swipe counts because the swipe could cross the straight line of a previous swipe, but the path you take avoids crossing the previous swipe. A swipe that goes directly from one grid dot to another is colored blue. The cagey one that avoids crossing a previous swipe is colored red.
Creating and Deleting a Game
You can create a game by touching "+" on the Games list. You can delete a game by swiping left to right across the name of a game on the games list.
Once you touch "+", kaje will bring up the photos on your iPad and let you pick one of your own photos for the game. One common way to put photos in your photo library is to drag them from your computer onto your iTunes library and the sync photos. Another way is to receive one in email and save the image. Select your photo. It will take a few seconds to load into kaje.
Now touch the "edit" button. You can give the game a title and a subtitle. You can also prevent other people from editing your game by entering a password. The game will automatically get a default title which is the date and time of the game’s creation, but you should feel free to change that. A game must always have a title.
Touch the photo you selected and now you can enter your actions, hints, and prize. Touch the ">" at the lower right of the screen and you will see "Reset and enter a new game." Touch this. Look over your photo with the grid dots on it, and decide an action (a touch or swipe), Once you do the action, kaje will bring up the keyboard so that you can type in your hint for that action. When you have finished putting in your actions and hints, then Touch the ">" again and touch "Enter your prize."
This will bring up a window where you can type in prize text. You can also type in something and that will create an internet link for a fancier prize. You can change your prize text anytime by editing it again.
Kaje will not permit you to save your game until you have practiced it once. Touch the ">" and touch "Practice". Now you will see the game and you can play it to make sure you know how to win. Once you have practiced at least once, touch ">" and "Done" and then click the "Done" icon at the top left to save your game on the iPad. You have now created a kaje game.
You can email a Kaje game directly from your iPad and receive a Kaje game from your email by simply clicking on the game in the mail.
You can also send your Kaje game to iTunes and retrieve a game that you saved on your PC/Mac back from iTunes. On iTunes, under the tab Apps, at the bottom of the page, you can click on Kaje and it will show all the games stored on iTunes. You can drag these to and from folders on your PC/Mac and also mail these and receive them on your PC/Mac mail.
Enjoy.
